Has anyone seen passionate Zelensky asking people around the world to come together and show their peaceful support for Ukraine tomorrow? Does this make anyone want to act? If so, in what way?

It’s mad to think your sitting cozy at home and In the corner of EU there’s actual war going on, messed up in many ways.
Then again this is getting complicated just because of one scumbag psycho, and literally regardless of sanctions whatever entire world is hurting itself, as we became so used to exports products from Russia, that there’s no point, like ok protest at what Russia, it’s people, yeah sure they should be ones acting on Putin, but cunts in North Korea should been doing same 5 decades back, just saying no one wants to end up in some cell in Siberia, as that’s a likely outcome for anyone acting. And same anywhere in the world doubt people want more costs added to them because they don’t support Putin’s actions. So this leaves little to fck all space to protest against anything, sure most likely only way out is to sanction Russia even more, where people there would hardly be able to take it, as aside taking out putin somehow this will most likely won’t end fast.
So I personally won’t protest, against anything as literally that would achieve nothing, not saying others shouldn’t but don’t think there’s anything ATM to protest here against that doesn’t matter what the number would make a change. Then again Im open to be proven wrong.
Deep but appreciate both comments.
Not sure if fully agree with the North Korea comment. The public struggle to make ends meet on a daily basis there and are encouraged to rat on their neighbours, so many things wrong that it’s incredibly difficult for them to trust anyone and/or do anything besides survive.
Understand both your hesitations around protesting but do you think even smaller gestures could go a long way. For instance, wearing a UA badge or having a UA flag on your car or home – these small things might act as to encourage dialogue in ways that then spur on other acts of kindness?
It is worth protesting just for helping morale in Ukraine alone. Let them know that we are thinking about them and haven’t forgotten about them or their struggle. It’s not much but it is something.
He’s the Pandora papers guy. Another gangster. This was reported only months ago
https://www.theguardian.com/news/2021/oct/03/revealed-anti-oligarch-ukrainian-president-offshore-connections-volodymyr-zelenskiy
“Before becoming president, Zelenskiy declared some of his private assets. They included cars, property and three of the co-owned offshore companies. One, Film Heritage, which he held jointly with his wife, Olena, a former Kvartal 95 writer, is registered in Belize.
But the Pandora papers show further offshore assets that Zelenskiy appears not to have revealed. Film Heritage had a 25% stake in Davegra, a Cyprus holding company. Davegra in turn owns Maltex Multicapital Corp, a previously unknown entity registered in the tax haven of the British Virgin Islands (BVI). Zelenskiy, the Shefir brothers, and Yakovlev each held a 25% stake in Maltex.
On 13 March 2019, two weeks before the first round of voting in Ukraine’s election, Zelenskiy gave his quarter stake in Maltex to Serhiy Shefir, documents show. It is unclear if Shefir paid Zelenskiy. Bakanov witnessed this secret transfer and signed the offshore papers”
God it must be horrendous for them. I just can’t imagine. I don’t know if protests will actually make a difference – it’s not like Putin is looking for support from the global community – but it’s hard to know what else people can do apart from continue to donate, continue to read, talk and press for more direct action.
What we must avoid most of all is people forgetting about this crisis and I imagine that’s more what they are trying to prevent. The eyes of the world are caught easily by these situations but they turn to something fresh quickly too.
The most effective way for us to support Ukraine is stop importing fossil fuels, in particular oil, from Russia. That means hardship for a lot of people who will be crippled financially come winter just trying to heat their homes and drive a car.
No not at all.
