Croatia’s trade deficit widened to EUR 1.4 billion in January 2025 from EUR 1.2 billion in the same month of the previous year, according to preliminary estimates.

Exports rose 9% year-on-year to EUR 1.9 billion, driven by higher sales to both EU countries (+7.3% to EUR 1.3 billion) and non-EU countries (+12.5% to EUR 0.6 billion).

Meanwhile, imports grew at a faster pace of 9.6% to EUR 3.3 billion, with purchases from EU countries rising slightly (+0.4% to EUR 2.5 billion) and those from non-EU countries surging (+51.5% to EUR 0.8 billion).
