Adonxs has revealed details about his Eurovision 2025 music video in an interview with Czech television.

Adam Pavlovčin, Czechia’s representative for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, shared insights on his music video. The singer collaborated with director Jiří Horenský, Slovakian production company Reset Production, and Czech studio SeeYa Creative to bring the visual concept for “Kiss Kiss Goodbye” to life. Speaking about the storyline, he explained:

We wanted to introduce an unexpected aesthetic, but most importantly, tell a powerful story with unexpected twists and turns. I wanted to reveal something real and honest—something fragile, yet painful.

Adonxs described the video as a metaphor for human failure, emotional pain, and the struggle with imperfection.

It’s the story of a flawed hero, someone willing to make a great sacrifice at a crucial moment for humanity, just to heal a painful part of himself. It’s about how love shapes us—but also how its absence does.

The song itself explores romantic relationships and recurring emotional patterns, intertwining Adonxs’ longing for unconditional love with his personal experience of an absent father in his early childhood.

Michal Utíkal, Head of Communication for Czechia’s Eurovision team revealed that there is a deeper story behind “Kiss Kiss Goodbye” than it might seem at first glance. He also explains how early success of the acoustic version performed during Malta’s national final, is currently reflecting in the odds:

Adonxs is currently ranked between 7th and 9th place with bookmakers, and every step he takes shakes up the charts again. He has a song that sends shivers down the spine, and I believe many fans will connect with its message. Although it is his intimate experience, I believe it may resonate with many of us. I can’t wait to see Adonxs bring this story to life on the big stage in Basel.

Utíkal additionally revealed that staging for Eurovision will be in hands of Matyáš Vorda, an experienced stage director who previously worked on Czechia’s Eurovision performances in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Music Video Premiere Event

At the music video premiere event in Prague this weekend, Adonxs spoke with Super.cz about the aesthetics of the video and his ambitions in May:

We wanted to keep a consistent aesthetic with my previous videos. Science fiction played a huge role, helping us create a timeless space that can’t be tied to a specific era. The visuals were heavily inspired by NASA in the 1950s and 1960s.

Regarding his Eurovision chances, he acknowledged that the competition is unpredictable. While he tries to stay grounded, he doesn’t hide the fact that a Top 10 finish would be amazing—Top 5 even better. Bringing Eurovision to Prague next year would be both thrilling and a great honor for him.

He confirmed that he and his team have already submitted a draft of their stage performance to the production team in Basel. The artist is excited for the upcoming weeks filled with European pre-parties and preparations for Basel, where he will be joined by his sister, mother, and her husband in May.

Adonxs, born Adam Pavlovčin, rose to fame after winning the 2021 edition of the Czech-Slovak version of SuperStar. Though originally from Slovakia, he is now based in London, making him the second consecutive Czech Eurovision act to be based in the UK, following Aiko (2024).

The singer will perform in the second half of the second semi-final on May 15.

Czechia first competed in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007. They achieved their best result at the contest with Mikolas Josef coming 6th in Lisbon 2018 with the song “Lie to Me”. Gabriela Gunčíková took Czechia to their first final in 2016. This came after a three year run of non-qualifications between 2007 and 2009, and missing out on a place in the final on their return in 2015. Until 2023, the nation took part under the name Czech Republic.
