We have our own sub at r/britmap 🇬🇧 This has taken me about 100 hours so far and is going to take months, maybe years, to complete. Regardless of your politics, we as a group have so much to be proud of. I have geolocated notable people from our history (England and Scotland atm, but the rest will follow), I am adding more and more people every day. You can also turn your location on in the site, to see your surroundings. Check it out at http://www.britmap.com

Looking good.
Some people from my neck of the woods, Horley, by Gatwick Airport.
Garage Southgate and Romesh Ranganathan are from Crawley with the latter teaching at Hazlewick School. The Cure formed in Crawley too with Robert Smith living in Horley.
Alfred Nobel first demonstrated dynamite in Redhill.
A large number of people went to school at Reigate Grammar including Keir Starmer, Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim), David Walliams and plenty more.
The Queens cousins were put into Royal Earlswood Hospital. John Langdon Down (who Downs Syndrome is named after) also worked there.
Rugeley, Staffordshire. Doctor William Palmer aka Palmer the Poisoner, famous at the time Victorian serial murderer, took out life insurance on people, poisoned them, took the money. Town petitioned for a name change, but the PM said only if they used his name, but it was Palmerston, so it stayed Rugeley. His mother said, upon his death, “They hanged my poor, saintly Billy.”
Only famous Ruglian in history. But quite a one.
