With all the measures in place to stop something like this occurring, I am surprised it could have happened, even by accident. I previously worked in much more run-down leisure centres than the London Aquatics Centre and there have always been so many procedures that it was never even close to taking place.
i remember on the day they opened peckham pool they put so much chlorine in that they had to smash holes in the roof to airlift people out.
