Netflix is allegedly having second thoughts about investing the amount of money they did into Meghan Markle after her new series, With Love, Meghan, failed to be a massive success with both critics and viewers.
The show was savaged by critics, and others complained about it for not addressing specific things, branding it unwatchable as a result.
Now, it appears Netflix bosses are looking back at the investment they made in the Duchess of Sussex, and they are less than happy with how things paid off.
In the show, the Duchess invites over friends and other famous guests to a California estate, where she shares cooking, gardening and hosting tips.
And while the show didn’t go over well with fans and she has been hit with backlash as well, sources now say that Netflix bosses are regretting their decision
The source also added that Netflix sees it as not getting “their money’s worth yet,” as the two were paid over $110 million in their deal with the steamer, and all they’ve done is produce three seasons of shows that all ran for only one season each, which works out mathematically to $6 million an episode for 18 episodes of their shows.
“You would expect to spend $6 million per series, but per show is horrendously over budget. Netflix are going to have to either keep churning out content with them or cut their losses and run,” the source added.
Despite the lack of success, the show was picked up for a second season.
Markle shared the news in an Instagram story the same week the show was released.
