Members of the Parliamentary Group of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia for cooperation with the parliaments of the Baltic states – the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Lithuania met with the Ambassador of Lithuania to Skopje, Vilma Dambrauskiene, ahead of the parliamentary delegation’s return visit to Vilnius in early autumn.

As the Parliament’s press service reports, the chairwoman of the Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Parliament of Lithuania, Monika Zajkova, expressed her satisfaction with the opening of the Lithuanian Embassy Office in Skopje and welcomed the opportunity to exchange experiences with this Baltic state.

“The interlocutors agreed that North Macedonia and Lithuania, which this year mark three decades since the establishment of diplomatic relations, continuously cultivate good bilateral relations, which should be deepened in several areas, as well as in the field of parliamentary cooperation,” the statement said.

The meeting was also attended by MPs Halil Snopce, Jovanka Trenchevska and Velika Stojkova Serafimovska, who joined the discussion with Ambassador Dambrauskiene.

“Views were exchanged on the representation of women in the Parliament of North Macedonia and in leadership positions in other institutions, as well as on Lithuania’s policies in the field of digitalization, education and youth, social protection and human rights. The interlocutors also discussed regional cooperation between the Baltic states, as well as policies related to the diaspora,” the Parliament’s press service reported.
