Oh man there’s no solution I’m afraid, best seal that cupboard like when Henry gets bricked up in the tunnel
Take it to the town centre and throw it at pigeons, they go mad for mismatched tupperware.
That Pyrex measuring jug is placed a bit precariously. I’ve accidentally smashed more than one of them in my time.
My wife has 3 tupperware cupboards…
You have to store them with the lids on. Takes up more space, but increases the usability of what you’ve got.
Store tupperware with the lid on. Do not nest them. Any that are missing lids or bottoms; throw them away.
The solution is, at least for me, throw them all out and replace with glass ones. Therefore, you’re forced to keep them tidy or they’ll break. No more opening the door, lobbing it and slamming door before it bounces back.
Ha ha, we keep all our “tupperware” boxes in a large storage box inside a kitchen cabinet.
That’s actually a very nice and organised tupperware cupboard compared to what I have.
My tupperware cupboard looks like a bomb went off inside it.
Throw them all away and invest in one type. Ideally glass that’s fully sealable. Freezer proof and oven/microwave safe.
I honestly got rid of my tupperware and started using takeaway containers because the missing lids and crap annoyed me
I have a storage type bag for the boxes and one for the lids, works quite well
No solution available, sorry. Watch out for that nice ceramic bowl though- might want to position it better.
Those are rookie numbers, you can still see the back of the cupboard.
Maybe a multi-tiered rack?
Sorry, it’s not a container cupboard unless it all spills out when you open it. The tidal wave usually consists of hundreds of empty takeaway containers that you threw away but somehow *somebody* has snuck them back in because they’re “useful.”
Not bad, but you could improve this by buying thirty more tubs, and piling them up with the biggest on top, so that when you open the door it all tries to live in your hair. That’s how it’s supposed to go.
We have a separate box in which we store all the lids. Was a game change
Chuck them out and start again with just a couple.
Pull it out, stack it up and gain a shit tonne of usable space in no time… also put a shelf in that cupboard
We call it the tupboard
If my mum ever finds my tupperware cupboard I’m a dead man as they are pretty much all hers that I’ve been given food in over the years but never returned.
Got a similar cupboard, Jenga made of tupperware containers and assorted kitchen utensils.
Putting the washing up away is an absolute pain 😄
There is a lot of wasted space in that cupboard.
Get out of there Pyrex, this is not your cupboard! :O
This has just reminded me of something that happened recently. I made some soup and gave my sister in law a tupperware full of it. She finally gave me it back weeks later and it stank of mould. I put it through the dishwasher twice and it still smells funny. Never giving her a loan of any of any of my stuff ever again.
A dinosaurs final final resting place.
i would love to go every house in the country and collect together all the tupperware, sort it back into containers and matching lids and redistribute.
First:
You want them 1st to fit into each other, by been different sizes or exactly the same size you decide.
Second:
Replace everything with glass..if you cannot buy or have glass..
Buy a set that fits into each other..if you still cannot or want to spend money..
Put lids on all of them, the ones that don’t have lids, thrash them, afterwards choose the ones that fit with each other, keep 2 rows, bin the rest..
Save big one & put lids there – you can number them if you prefer for easy find
I don’t advise storing them with the lid, they retain the smells like that…even glass because the lid is plastic…
We always have more than we need..
In my case I have same exact size they fit into each other – i don’t have different size containers, they are all same & use the same lid (i have 6)..for smaller things I saved 2 honey glass jars & use that..anything bigger I just divide it & use 2 containers..
Hope it helps..
1) Pair all containers with their lids
2) eliminate the lidless
3) select a container that can hold all of the lids ordered by size standing up like they’re files in a filing cabinet (easier to spot the one you want when it’s not blocked by a bigger one
4) Put the lids in there
5) stack same shaped containers within each other
6) in future only buy sets of varying size same design containers so you can immediately match the lid to the container on size alone without having to play a guessing game
Why does everyone’s cupboard look like this? Further convinced this is all a simulation once again.
I can’t do the thing where you store it with the lids on because miss one tiny bit of damp and it’s game over.
It does help to put all the lids in one box or drawer and then try to pile up the containers as best you can.
That’s quite
Tidy lol
Set it on fire
You need something like a plate draining rack that can store the lids vertically, so you can easily select the right one.
This makes my blood pressure rise just looking at it
Get rid of the cupboard and use a drawer instead.
Completely solves the issue of it falling across the kitchen floor when you open it, but now you have the problem of the drawer refusing to shut until you’ve completed a tetris puzzle to get it all back in.
We have a deep pull out drawer with a divider for the lids. For you, I would say buy a big clear plastic box eg pound store sort of thing, to fit on the rack, then use your biggest container for the lids. Then just pull out the box when you need something. Just bung in clean containers, don’t worry too much about stacking. BUT, if you do this, do an audit first, and bin anything that doesn’t fit anything else.
I’m confused as to why no one is saying it but you need more floor area for your collection. You can spread them across the kitchen or keep building up in the same cupboard with more levels of racks
