“Allan said he and his fellow veterans “are marshaling on [March] 14th at noon and marching all over the country to say one simple thing: Veterans will not stand for this any longer.”

    >**“***An 80-year-old (Vietnam) veteran chained himself to a sign near the White House Monday to protest Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s massive cuts to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.*

    >Richard Hobcraft Allan III, a resident of Charlottesville, Virginia, [locked himself to a metal post](https://x.com/FordFischer/status/1899175666270257198) outside of the presidential building Monday morning, holding a pipe around his hands reading “King Trump and Pres Musk are killing veterans.”

    >Allan said he and his fellow veterans “are marshaling on [March] 14th at noon and marching all over the country to say one simple thing: Veterans will not stand for this any longer.”

    >“We believe that an unelected leader is killing our fellow veterans and something must be done. All over our country, people are standing up, making noise in the streets, and stating ‘we cannot go on as usual,’” Allan continued. He later joked with one of the Metropolitan Police officers who responded to the scene.

    >“I’ve been told that some of you guys are real humane,” he said.

    >“We try to be,” the officer replied.

    >“If you could slip over here with just a shot of bourbon—” Allan said, causing the officer to laugh.

    >Ultimately, police decided to leave Allan attached to the post.

    >“My intention had been to be here until I was broken out of here and arrested, and I was proud to face arrest in the name of my fellow veterans,” Allan said, but would ultimately have to free himself, and called his small protest an “appetizer” for the larger veterans’ march on Saturday.”

  2. Sir, your co- presidents don’t care about you, and we are sorry about that.

  3. It’s time to depose the Ketamine King. Puts on Tesla are working, now let’s amp up the pressure in the streets!

  4. And the “support our troops” crowd will simply re-label this veteran as a “woke liberal RINO who is paid for by the deep state” and call it a day.

  5. Good. More protests. More action. This is good.

Sidebar: In the picture of this article, Jr looks like he is super sad that Elon is taking all of Daddy Trump’s attention. Poor little Latchkey Kid.

  6. If this administration truly valued the veterans, they wouldn’t be compelled to resort to such drastic measures as chaining themselves in protest. This act underscores a profound neglect and lack of genuine concern from the administration. Poor man, his sacrifice and his protest are useless because the King has no heart

  7. I mean it’s probably a bad idea to fire and piss off vers.

  8. Democrat leadership should be taking notes about this.

  9. I was told it’s only redditors in an echo chamber who don’t like what is happening

  10. I am so proud to be seeing these actions! Protect our veterans!

  11. I’m an Air Force veteran. I was an airborne Russian linguist during the Cold War. Back in the early 80s. My buddies and I are going to show up. We’re coming from three different states. We all swore enough to defend the constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. We have a traitor in the White House who led an insurrection. He has never been punished for that and through his actions has disqualified himself according to the 14th amendment.

This March is not just for veterans but for everyone and everyone is invited. Come join us at noon this Friday, March 14.

  12. What a dear man, I hope he is ok. He is brave and right.

  13. Really MAGA? Are you proud of this? Making an 80 year old Vietnam veteran chain himself up in protest because you pieces of shit are too stupid, evil, and incompetent to ever do anything of value in your pathetic lives. Fuck I’m mad. This man is a hero.

  14. So…Friday, March 14, 2025. I am not letting an 80 year old honorable veteran fight my battles for me. I am walking with them.

  15. If I weren’t literally 2/3rds of the way across the country, I’d be happy to bring this man a bottle of bourbon, and a shot glass or a rocks glass, with ice, whichever he preferred.

  16. These two are destroying our country and so many of our elected officials remain on Twitter. We can reduce Elon Musk‘s income stream if we stop supporting his businesses. The Tesla boycott is clearly having an impact.

Nazi platform- Twitter under Elon Musk has become a megaphone for hate, disinformation, and extremist propaganda. Its leadership actively amplifies and profits from Nazi ideology, driving harmful policies that hurt hospitals, universities, and countless communities. Every tweet, every interaction, every moment spent on that platform strengthens the very forces undermining democracy.

No one should feel comfortable supporting a site that has become a breeding ground for fascism. The solution is simple: disengage. Delete your account. Urge Democratic officials, companies, universities, and media outlets to do the same. Twitter is vulnerable—it relies on engagement to survive. By walking away, we deny it the legitimacy and revenue it needs to operate.

This isn’t just about rejecting a toxic platform; it’s about taking a stand against those who use it to spread hate and misinformation. Close your account. Make it impossible for any credible institution to justify staying. The fight against fascism starts with refusing to give it a platform.

  17. Wonder how long it’ll be until Trump tries to classify Veteran’s as domestic terrorists for protesting.

  18. Thank you Veterans! 🇨🇦🇺🇸All of Canada is with you. Can’t wait for Friday.

  19. It’s a shame that US needs a 80 year old vet to this. He is the real superhero.

People need to stop looking for hero’s and superheroes in politicians and celebrities. They simply don’t care

  20. These older men were protesting for benefits that they earned while our presidents did a Tesla commercial at the white house.

  21. Finally, it begins.

Al Green. Chris Kluwe. Now this guy.

AOC and Crockett and Bernie are good at speaking, but action is even better.

    To the streets!

  22. My grandmother chained herself to the White House fence over the war in Vietnam. She had nine kids at home but took the train across the country alone for this act of protest. She was my hero.

  23. Great protest! But also sad the mental gymnastics that the maga crowd will pull to minimize this as nothing more than a “crazy leftist lunatic” stand strong Sir!

  24. Is he still there?

Can I buy him breakfast? (With delivery and tip)

  25. Pissing off veterans is an epic level self own. Godspeed morons.

  26. 80 years old, holy shit. Good on him. That’s what a real American looks like.

  27. It’s a good start. My opinion of Veterans has really fallen given 6/10+ Veteran voters voted for the absolute worst human being to represent ALL Americans, especially with how he’s just taking a wrecking ball to our friendships, reputation, integrity, knowledge and expertise, contributions to humanity, values, etc.

What Veterans really need to do is solidarity parades with LGBTQ+, BLM and Latinx. Then, I might start to believe they still support Freedom, Liberty, and Justice for ALL.

  28. This is a shot in the dark. can someone help me find out more information about the protest on March 14th. Specifically for NC. I’ve never attended one but I am trying to find a way to take action. I googled it but none of the links seemed safe.

  29. I’m a vet with that day off. Live near Philly. How can I help?
