  1. How was she missing if she was in her home. Like did nobody check in on her?

And those dogs were probably starving if they started to eat her

  2. Easy to happen, my sister was found dead in February 2021. Even though I live in the same town that she did, we only met up to chat about once a month.

The reason she was found was fown to her neighbour, between them, she would take in parcels for him and would do the same for her.

He took in one parcel for her and tried knocking a couple of times but got nothing. I tried again over the next couple of days, but there was no response.
The following day, he tried again at the front door and then at the back door, no response. He thought to try the kitchen door in case she had fallen.
He opened the door and walked in, calling her name, not in the sitting room, not in the bathroom. He found her on the floor.
I had a police man come knocking on my door asking if I was, xxxx and the brother of xxxx, then told me she was found by her neighbour.

Cause of death was down to uncontrolled diabetes, uncontrolled high blood pressure, and high blood pressure and heart disease.

Coroners report put down that she had been dead for nearly a week and was dead before she hit the floor.

So yes, it can be easy for someone to overlook a body. In my sisters case, she fell down between her bed and the radiator. So anyone not walking around the otherside of her bed wouldn’t have found her.

  3. That’s a very tragic tale, for all involved.

If I died suddenly and wasn’t found, I’d hope my dog would eat my body to survive. My body isn’t of much used to me, I’d sooner the dog survived.

  4. Well, now she is their life as she saved them from starvation.

Edit: turns out one died, so I’ll be quiet.

  5. This is why I am glad I live with my mum and sister. I would hate for anything like this to happen to me, especially as I would have no one notice unless work issued an emergency check.

  6. This is like Joyce Vincent minus the dogs. That film Dreams of a Life still haunts me. This is so sad.

  7. How does this even happen to people?

If I went 1 day without talking to my mum and dad I’d know about it.

  8. Unpopular opinion but who said it wasn’t the dogs that killed her?

“Tho shalt not suffer a dachshund to live” – Exodus 22:18 (often misquoted, but witches aren’t real)

  9. When my dad died ( to my shame- I hadn’t contacted him for a few days), the police had to bring a dog handler in, because his faithful border collie (Blitz),wouldn’t let anyone near my dads body ( Blitz’s faithfulness put me to shame). We rehomed the dog to a good home ( family friend), but Blitz died a few weeks later- I think of a broken heart….

  10. I read once that dogs desfiguring the owner’s face is a form of grieving not feeding… as any animal, including dogs would eat the softer and more nutritious parts of the body (guts) first if their aim is to feed

  11. Sorry the title cracked me up “eaten by sausage dogs” 💀

    Awful story rip

  12. Happens all the time. Pets will always choose to eat you before they starve.

Cats will sometimes start eating your eyes within a few hours of you dying.

  13. Friendly reminder to keep in touch with your loved ones.. Even just a single message per week would drastically prevent depressing outcomes like this
