The twelvth artist in our Who Is series for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 is Miriana Conte from Malta.
Miriana Conte was born on December 17, 2000 in Valletta to a Maltese mother and an Italian father.
In 2018, Miriana participated in the first season of X Factor Malta, where she was a member of the group 4th Line. The group made it to week 2 of the live shows before being eliminated. In 2019, Miriana left 4th Line and auditioned for the second season of X Factor Malta. She did not advance to the live shows.
Miriana attempted to represent Malta at Eurovision several times. In 2017, she placed 16th in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with “Don’t Look Down”. In 2018, she finished 12th with “Rocket”. In 2022, she finished 6th with “Look What You’ve Done Now”. Last year, she finished 9th with “Venom”.
Miriana was selected to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 after winning the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025. She finished second in the jury vote and first in the public vote.
The song that Miriana won the selection with is called “Kant” (Singing). It was written and composed by Benjamin Schmid, Sarah Evelyn Fullerton, Matthew Mercieca and Miriana herself. As of 11th March 2025, it is of note that the song is due to change as a result of a ruling from the European Broadcasting Union requiring the word “Kant” to be removed. Further updates will be made upon release.
Miriana will perform in the second half of the second semi-final on May 15.

Malta debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1971 and was represented by Joe Grech and the song “Marija L-Maltija”, which finished last. Malta competed again in 1972 and 1975 but then withdrew until their return in 1991. During the 1990s Malta only once finished outside of the top 10, and in 1998 they came within just 7 points of victory. It was Chiara who brought the country their 3rd place finish in 1998, and who went on to finish in 2nd at the 2005 contest in Kyiv. The only other artist to finish 2nd for Malta is Ira Losco, who was 12 points away from victory in 2002. They are the longest and most successful participating country never to have won the Eurovision Song Contest.
