Is someone surprised?

  1. Who seriously wants Russia to accept anything. Trump just needs to say “I tried” and it’s back to massive sanctions and weapons supplies

  2. It’s either Russian way or no way for now.

Why would they accept something that would give Ukraine a breather?

  3. That’s what we wanted them to say.

They can’t ceasefire while Kursk is occupied.

If possible Ukraine needs to make another beachhead and race to expand territory in Russia it occupies and needs to mine the fuck out of it to hold onto it for the next little while.

That prevents Russia from being able to ceasefire anything indefinitely. Ukraine can keep offering it.

Then Ukraine can up the ante by offering to trade Belgorod and Kursk for Luhansk and Donetsk (and south) and unfortunately not have much to negotiate for Crimea back.

If UK could guard the north, the power plants, and some of the skies that would free up Ukrainian troops to go and do this.

  4. I am a bit surprised.

The Russian way in the past seems like it’s been more like them “accepting” the ceasefire, then breaking it while claiming that it was the other side that broke it (possibly using a false flag attack as justification).

For them to straight-up reject it instead of playing their typical games is an interesting development. It suggests that they feel some kind of confidence that they don’t need to go along with this, even just as a facade. The real question would then become whether it’s justified confidence (ie. They correctly believe that Trump won’t make any moves against their interests in response to them rejecting the ceasefire) or it’s overconfidence (ie. Trump’s ego is big enough that he would actually “punish” Russia for not cooperating with his “peace” plans).

It’s really confusing because Trump generally seems to be following a Russian playbook, but I can’t see how this latest turn of events (restoring full intel sharing to Ukraine and creating a proposal that Russia will refuse to accept) would be something the Russians would want to do.

  5. It simple. Trump wanted a ceasefire so he could brag about ending the war and bringing world peace without any concerns how that affected Ukraine. So, he tells Ukraine he is cutting them off unless they agree to a ceasefire.

Zelensky knows there is no way in hell Putin would actually agree to anything, so he said “Yeah, sure. Why not?”

Trump gets excited like he accomplished something and agrees to turn on Ukraine aid again.

    Putin rejects offer.

  6. Crazy because russia does want a ceasefire

    To rearm

What are they doing? Are they demented?

  7. The Russians need to keep momentum going, especially in Kursk region. Why would they want a simple ceasefire right now?

  8. You know why they said no. Because of stupid trump stopping everything Ukraine needs to win.
