A friend shared this from Pret* Vauxhall.
Have the public become so utterly unhinged that they can't buy a sandwich without abusing the staff or assaulting other bystanders?
I don't know the area at all, but it makes me feel sad that clearly they've had so many incidents that this is the lengths they've had to resort to…
(*not here to discuss the general ethics, employment gripes or standard of food at Pret)

This branch is actually open at 6am every day because of the proximity to transport/office space, so I suspect they get a lot of interesting early morning characters from people that hang out around the station or coming in from the clubs nearby.
It’s most stores now.
At least in South & central London. Is it not where you are?
When I used to go into pret I used to see a lot of theft, mostly in central locations
There are some libraries where the staff have to wear cameras. It’s a crazy world
It’s the cutesy picture accompanied by the harrowing message that really makes it feel dystopian. Really weird
That’s nothing. Many small Tescos and CoOp in London now look like one of those liquor shops you see in America movies, with the clerks behind what looks like thick bulletproof glass
The public have become so utterly unhinged full stop. BWC are becoming common place, trouble is they don’t actually act as a deterrent because of how feral society has come.
Future of public facing jobs unfortunately
you just know the real reason they are training AI to replace those workers it’s got nothing to do with safety.
Locals that constantly hangout in front of Cambridge heath station regularly have pile of pet Sandwiches on the floor , now maybe it’s donated but still
The people who do customer assistance at Euston wear these now, too.
Look I know it’s definitely for the issues with shop lifting. But I can’t help but think that having footage of every second of your workers day is something that businesses would love.
How does the picture relate to the text. What even is the picture supposed to be. I guess there is no suitable accompanying image to “hey there’s no escape from surveillance have a nice day”
I love that they’ve used a clockwork apple.
I’m guessing an orange would have been too suggestive of the conduct the cameras are hoping to discourage.
