  1. Better than fucking signs.

Edit: It’s been almost two months and we’ve only had **2** prominent Dems actually try something different.

    >Other than independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who has taken two swings of his own through the Midwest in the past month, no major Democratic leaders have been stepping forward with similar kinds of public events. Walz chalked that up in part to his party “trying to find our feet,” but the situation clearly frustrates him.

  2. [Tim Walz is headed back out on the road](https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/12/politics/tim-walz-national-tour-town-halls/index.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=reddit) – this time, for a tour of House districts represented by Republicans who have stopped holding in-person town halls amid the raucous receptions some of their colleagues have gotten across the country.

The Minnesota governor and 2024 vice presidential candidate will start on Friday in Iowa, in the district represented by Rep. Zach Nunn, then head across the border to Nebraska, for the district represented by Rep. Don Bacon – both of whom won tight races for re-election last year. Walz’s team is already planning stops in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Ohio for the coming weeks, with more stops expected to be added.

Given his national profile after his time on the Democratic ticket last year, Walz said he felt obligated to step up.

“There was just a primal scream of folks recognizing what’s going on with the Trump administration, their authoritarian tendencies, and what they viewed was a lack of a proper response from their representatives,” he told CNN on Wednesday. “It was about these Republican representatives recognizing this stuff’s really unpopular, so they’re going to quit the town halls. These folks need to be heard. They need to be heard, and to be candid with you, Democratic leadership needs to hear them.”

  3. This is what we need. I hate the rhetoric that “MAGA voters aren’t worth trying to convince”. We won’t know until we try, and I have a feeling massive benefit cuts to maga base will convince a few people.

Not even trying is worse than failing

  4. Please tell me walz is going to pick up the torch and become our next bernie.

  5. A great move by Gov. Walz. I think we may see him in the next presidential primary. (Please spare me the responses telling me we are never having an election again.)

  6. Just like during any other disaster, people want leadership, people need someone to take up the torch and say “Follow me!” If someone from the Democratic party is willing to take up that role, and actually lead people, I think he or she would have the best chance of becoming elected the next President.

  7. Good for you, Tim. Do fucking *something*. Get more of that national exposure to run again in 2028, but drop the big donors this time and be the populist symbol you obviously want to be.

  8. Please come to Bucks County. Brian Fitzpatrick is a butthole.

  9. Where and when in Iowa, I would like to attend

  10. That’s what we need. I would love to see others follow suit.

  11. Apparently not everyone knows this. Walz is 60! Prime 2028 candidate right there.

  12. This and TV ads really should be done over the next four years. Dems need to understand that misinformation spreads so easily now, getting on-top of it *now* is the best way to combat it.

  13. He’s my governor and I sure hope he’s my next president.

  14. Minnesota: where we shovel your driveway when you out sick and lend you our governor when the country goes to shit
