It is of course time for another Complaints Thread, so do come on in, have a chat, and let us know what’s getting on your nerves this week.

  1. POLO (first post, gotta be done ;p)

14h shift coming up … I am not feeling it today, already looking forward to a weekend off after working two in a row.

Hope everyone else has a good day 🙂

  2. Not been a terrible week, got some writing done, tested it on the kids, they laughed at the right places, asked questions at the right places, all good.

I was hoping to be going over to Wales to see a very dear friend who had a stroke a while back. I’ve had to keep putting it off because of household colds and car fuckery.

I’ve finally got my car back, woke up this morning with a horror show cough and blocked nose.

Honestly, since the start of January I think I’ve gone a week without a cold.

    I’m livid.

  3. I’ve been suffering from physical anxiety symptoms for a couple weeks now and it’s driving me insane as I’m not anxious about anything! Life is absolutely fine so I can’t understand why my body feels like it is having a mental breakdown.

  4. Nose has been playing silly buggers again. Stupid deviated septum causing stupid pain again. Stupid thing.

I can’t wait for the op to fix the fucker once and for all. And the two weeks off for recovery. Totally won’t be catching up on gaming during that, not at all.

  5. Booking flights at stupid o’clock in the morning seems like a great idea 6 months beforehand, but I am now cursing my past self for making me get up at 3am to get to the airport.

  6. How is it Thursday already. Feels like I’ve got another weeks worth of work to get done before the weekend. Got three massive projects on at work and two ongoing projects at home.

I need a day off from both.

  7. Heavily pregnant with twins, could literally pop any day now… today is also my MIL birthday and she’s desperate for them to be born today because she wants it to piss me off… cue me laying with my legs in the air to stop gravity taking effect!!!

  8. Got two cold sores at the moment and they’re a fucking nightmare.

  9. Two decent champions league fixtures going past my bedtime so I’m suffering from some self inflicted tiredness

  10. Sooooo I should’ve got out of bed 10 mins ago. Can’t be FUCKED

  11. I haven’t had a full night’s sleep this week and it’s taking it’s toll. I’m also at the start of the process of buying a place and the seller is irritating me. It’s a share of freehold with a shortish lease remaining. I requested whether they’d extend the freehold as part of the sale and they’ve taken five days to come back and say yeah but you have to pay for it. It should only be a few hundred at most for a solicitor to produce a document…

Also fed up that whoever you interact with seem to have their own attached brokers/solicitors/surveyors who then get really pushy despite you saying you want to shop around and find your own.

    Argh

  12. I’m pretty sure I’m the only person in the world who hates spring. I love all the other seasons but something about spring makes me feel off.

  13. Applying for new jobs and the main page for the job gives tons of advice on how to write your cv and personal statement.
Discovered last night that you can only submit a personal statement and minimal info on past jobs/education.
So after thinking I was done, I get to spend time completely re working the personal statement to fit in things that I had in my cv

  14. Got a migraine at work yesterday. Bought some extra strong paracetamol and have hardly slept because of the caffeine content. (Migraine is gone though)

  15. Took the cat to the vets yesterday for suspected bad teeth. Spent 400 odd quid to find his teeth are great. The reason he hasn’t been eating his dry food however is because the fat bastard eats so fast he’s bitten his tongue. And it’s apparently healing very well on its own.

  16. Got tickets to a gig which was meant to be last week, alas the artist cancelled a few days before. No big deal. Except, they rescheduled to today.

I booked time off last week to go as it’s a two hour drive if we’re lucky. So I’ve got to fob off work early and pray I get there on time.

Not to mention tons of people got refunds and the remaining tickets are now priced nearly 3x cheaper than what I originally paid, and they’re the best seats, not the bloody nose bleeds.

    Fucking frustrating!

  17. There’s a range of exercise. If I get it just right then I sleep like the gods and wake up refreshed and, well not happy, but at least not crushed by modern living.

I did too much yesterday and spent the night feeling life an over-caffeinated bonfire trying to get to sleep.

    Another go today, I guess.

  18. I went in-person shopping yesterday because I thought I was going to speed things up by getting what I needed on the spot, but ended up spending a frustrating fruitless few hours trailing round and round different shops when each one didn’t have what I needed.

The weirdest thing was sanitary pads, each shop seemed to have pared down its selection to just a few types and instead Tena type things had taken over. You used to get the full range of wings/no wings/night/lingerie/eco but instead there were just a few choices from one brand and own brand. Tried to buy coffee and there was only one bag left. I went in Tesco for the first time in literally years and was shocked at how abysmal the offering is and how some prices have doubled.

Nowadays I shop a weird combination of online for bulk buying things like coffee, organic lentils, soy milk, Home Bargains for household stuff, market/delivery for vegetables and Sainsbury’s or Lidl for what’s left and I realised how crap and shockingly overpriced the old high street/Tesco model is. Conditioner in Boots or Tesco was £2 more than Home Bargains, laundry liquid was about double etc.

A few years ago Sainsbury’s or Waitrose would have been the shockingly overpriced place to shop but it’s all changed beyond recognition.

Tldr: in-person shopping was an overpriced waste of time and Tesco and Asda suck these days.

  19. The ice on my windscreen this morning was the worst kind – droplets of water frozen that are a nightmare to scrape off because you can’t get the scraper flush with the screen. Just what everyone wants to be doing first thing in the morning!

Got a lot more work on as there’s a few people out at work unwell at the moment. I’m just about managing, but being pulled from issue to issue when people don’t give context upfront (even when prompted) is mentally exhausting.

  20. Women’s lace up ankle boots with zips!!! ! I can manage to lace up thanks. What next, velcro?! Drives me mental

  21. Yesterday I closed more of my colleague’s tickets than he did. I get a hundred questions a day and it’s driving me insane. We’re trying to figure out the best plan to help him be more confident, but his fuck ups in the past whilst being confident could go down in history for how spectacularly stupid they are. It’s just very tiring.

Also, I barely slept on Sunday night and I’m still struggling.
