Hello, everyone! This is a 3D rendered elevation I have just finished of the Koli mountain and its vicinity based on an 1976 map by the National Land Survey of Finland. I hope you like it.

Disclaimer: I honestly don’t know why I chose “Serious” as the Flair for the post. If any mod reads this, feel free to change/delete it 🙂
I will leave here some more data about the project:

The elevation data, downloaded as GeoTiff, has 2 metres resolution and can be found [here](https://tiedostopalvelu.maanmittauslaitos.fi/tp/kartta?lang=en).

The original map is available in high resolution under [this](http://vanhatpainetutkartat.maanmittauslaitos.fi/?lang=en) link.

I made the 3D effect using QGIS and Blender, and editing a bit the lights on Photoshop afterwards. If you are further interested on the process, give me a shout and I will try to help 🙂

The image uploaded here is in pretty high resolution, so it will be hopefully be enough for you to scroll around and check if the landscape, settlements or roads have changed much in all these years.

In case you want to see some more 3D maps of the world, you can also find me at [@the.itinerarium](https://instagram.com/the.itinerarium) on Instagram.

Kiitos!
