The Swedish defense minister Pål Jonson recently announced that, as a part of a previously mentioned support package in January, 18 additional archer systems will be delivered to Ukraine.

Translated from SVT's article:
"Sweden sends more Archer to Ukraine
Sweden signs a deal for 18 artillery units of the model Archer to be sent to Ukraine.

The new artillery package was announced at a press release with defence minister Pål Jonson (Moderaterna) at Bofors' industrial area in Karlskoga.

This includes 18 Archer units and five artillery localization radar systems to a value of 3 billion Swedish Crowns. The money have already been announced in a previous support package to Ukraine at the ens of January. The government now announce what purchases are made with that money.

Sweden has previously, in another package, sent eight Archer units from the Military's stock to Ukraine."

  1. I really thought I was in r/civpolitics for a minute and couldn’t comprehend actual archer units being traded.

  2. Main problem: Sweden do not have 18 Archer. They will build but they are not built yet

  3. This more than doubles the number of archers (currently 8) that Ukraine will have at its disposal. Decent and hopefully just one of many initiatives from EU countries, now that they know the USA cannot be trusted as an ally.
