Hey everyone,

I recently had my visa interview, and the officer asked me to provide a notice of termination from the prosecutor's office regarding a past case. The issue is that this was a case of mistaken identity—I was not guilty, and the accuser is even willing to remove my name from the case.

I'm wondering what the best course of action is:

Should I hire a lawyer to handle this, or is it something I can resolve on my own?
Can I reach out to the prosecutor's office directly and request the document without paying legal fees?
Has anyone dealt with a similar situation, and how did you go about getting the necessary paperwork?
I’d really appreciate any guidance on this. Thanks in advance!

  1. Will the accuser’s letter help resolve this without needing a lawyer?

  2. Just get a termination letter from the prosecutors office with the case number on it.
