Capitalism?
Finland has been voting for right-wing-led governments really consistently for the whole of 2000’s, so this is just what the voting population seems to want.
The previous left-wing government left us with record amount of employed people among other things. This made the voters really angry, and now we’re back on the enshittification track.
Communism still lives strong in Finland. Sad but true that unemployment is a profession for generations within families. Socialists are easily getting support and votes from those by promising to take more dept and share the money to their own voters. Crazy shit.
I hope this doesnt turn into a whole eat the rich thing. This is governments issues not because a ceo of a bank is good at investing.
That doesn’t sound so bad, isn’t it much worse on most other countries? And why is it measured in households, and not per capita? Of course couples have more wealth than people living alone.
It’s the old saying “it’s easier to make money when you have money” wealth distribution is insanely bad now. Move it from government, into the working class and pass it on to the rich, it’s essentially a money laundering system.
It’s very noticeable in wealthy economies.
The real issue that people should be talking about is this: How in the hell does €550K get you in the *top 10%*?! How in the hell is the median net worth €96K?!
Guys, the disparity is not the problem. The problem is that virtually everyone is broke.
When are Finns going to have the courage to say, “We’ve been lied to. Our standard of living is not what we’ve been told.”
I adore Finland. I have deep ties to the country. It does many things brilliantly. I could go on and on about all the things I love about it and about Finns. But in regard to economics, the propaganda there is almost Putin-esque. It’s Bizzaroland.
I see the incredible talent there, and it just crushes me to know how rich Finland could be. 😢
The problem isn’t that wealth is accumulating at the top end, it’s that the population as a whole is getting poorer. I won’t even bother pointing fingers at the political parties, all of them are incompetent.

[2023](https://stat.fi/julkaisu/cm7z43lxi2mg907w2g2ks1399): The limit for the wealthiest tenth was 550,000 euros in 2023.
According to official [inflation calculator](https://stat.fi/tup/laskurit/rahanarvonmuunnin.html) 499,700 in 2019 is **582,921** inflation adjusted (2023). Which means the top 10% got 5.65% poorer within that timespan.
Everyone in Finland is getting poor.
