As Mr. Lauterbach (quirky frankensteiny but well-reputated scientist of the Social Democratic Party) said:
“By spring we have 3G*: vaccinated, recovered and dead.”
*3G in German would be “geimpft, genesen, gestorben”
Edit: as creepy he is from appearance, he is a sweetheart with a brain. He doesn’t care about appearances just about his field of expertise: science. He is quirky, maybe autistic, and he might bring dead people to life again, but at least he knows what he’s doing. And he admits when he was wrong. “Kalle, ich mag dich!” (Kalle is a nickname for “Karl”, and “ich mag dich” means, “I like you”.)
>Sixty-six per cent of Germany’s population is fully vaccinated, compared with 68% in France, 71% in Italy and 80% in Spain.
So in the same ball park as others apart from Spain who seems to be story in that list.
Germany doesn’t fear shit.
As long as our risk groups are protected all will be fine.
Well, compared to which country? If you compare us to Denmark, then yes, vaccination rate is low.
But compare us to Romania or Russia, and things look much better.
On top of this, when the vaccinationing happened at the work doctors (“Betriebsärzte”) and other resident doctors (“Arzt für Allgemeinmedizin”), then they had the vaccinations in mind — not the bureaucracy. So a maybe 2 million shots were given to people which didn’t make it into the statistics.
The RKI (Robert Koch Institut) now said that the real vaccination rate is more likely at 80% for both shots, and 84% for one shot. See e.g.
