US President Donald Trump‘s approval ratings are out, and things are not looking good for him. A new CNN poll has found that the American people are not happy with the POTUS.
CNN poll shows America is not happy with Trump
As markets decline and investors become concerned about Trump’s trade policies, the CNN poll shows that 56% of the public disapprove the way he is handling the economy. This is the worst rating even than during his first presidency term. On the other hand, 51% of people approve of his immigration efforts, particularly stricter enforcement, which is 7 points higher than his first term.
Americans are also divided on his performance in managing the federal budget and the government, with 48% approving of both, while about half disapprove. However, his ratings are lower for healthcare policy (43%), foreign affairs (42%), and tariffs (39%).
What does pollster Nate Silver say?
According to Nate Silver findings, Trump‘s polling numbers have been declining steadily. In a post on X, Silver shared how Trump’s approval ratings are slipping fast. “This is getting to be a reasonably fast decline. We launched last week, and Trump’s approval was +0.5, now it’s -1.7,” Silver said.
The Silver Bulletin combines survey results from various media sources to calculate Trump’s approval rating. As of Thursday, his approval is at 47.3%, while his disapproval stands at 49%.
Quinnipiac University poll
The Quinnipiac University poll released on Thursday is also part of Silver’s average. In this poll, Trump has a 42% approval rating and a 53% disapproval rating. The poll was conducted from March 6-11 with 1,198 registered voters and has a margin of error of 2.8%. In the previous month’s Quinnipiac poll, Trump had a 45% approval rating and a 49% disapproval rating, showing a noticeable drop in his approval from month to month.
