I have acquired a crow friend! I call him Aleister

  1. He appeared in my garden Tuesday afternoon and I was quite surprised because I don’t think we’ve ever had crows in it before.

He looked in pretty ropey shape, he was nervously walking round in circles, kept stretching out his wing, and I think he might be missing an eye. I put out a little bread and tuna for him just in case. Wednesday morning he was still perched up on the garden wall, barely moving and I thought he was probably not long for this world. But later that afternoon out of nowhere he just flew away without any trouble.

I thought I probably wouldn’t see him again (but secret hoped he might return as I’d read that crows sometimes do that). I gave up hope yesterday, but he’s suddenly appeared again. Much less doddery than before. He’s currently enjoying some leftover chicken x

  2. Great name ☺️ I have three seagulls and two crows. The crows are called Charles and Di. Charles sometimes follows me when I’m out walking!

  3. If you have the time and he stays long enough, they love a boiled egg.

Thank you for caring for him 🙂

  4. Do not – and I cannot stress this enough – do anything to piss off a crow. Not only do they remember, they pass it on to other crows and even their offspring.

  5. Nice! You shoul befriend a magpie, next. They bring you shiny trinkets, sometimes even coins.

  6. Treat him well, and he and his friends will look out for you.

  7. Treat him well, and he and his friends will look out for you.

  8. He doesn’t crow he just shouts 93! At everyone who goes past no-one knows why.

  9. How is your lawn so thick and luscious at this time of year?
