Hi everyone

I’ll be traveling to the USA in the near future and I was wondering what the current COVID-19 regulations are.

On the [Diplomatie Belgium](https://diplomatie.belgium.be/nl/Diensten/Op_reis_in_het_buitenland/reisadviezen/verenigde_staten) website I read the following statement: ‘Before boarding a flight to the United States, you are required to show a negative COVID-19 test result taken no more than 1 day before travel.’

Does this mean that I need to take a PCR test 24h prior to departure (what if I haven’t received my results?).

My flight leaves from Brussels on a Saturday morning, what would be the ideal testing date/hour to avoid any suprises?

Thank you for your kind answers!

  1. An antigen test works as long as it’s registered and done by a professional. It has to be done the calendar day before departure at the latest. Time of day for testing and departure don’t matter.

In short: go to a pharmacy any time Friday that can do an on the spot registered antigen test, wait 30 minutes for the result to be available in the app, done. I did it less than a month ago.

  2. Went to the us last week, no one gives a fuck what type of test you have. The us government specifically says it doesn’t matter what it is it just has to be on the calendar day before you fly. Get a rapid test with cert at the pharmacy. Cheapest, and you will actually get your results
