Tanker hired by US military ablaze off UK after being hit by container ship • FRANCE 24 English
A cargo ship hit a tanker carrying jet fuel for the US military off eastern England on Monday, setting both vessels ablaze and releasing fuel into the North Sea. All 37 crew members aboard the vessels were safely evacuated, with one hospitalised. Video footage aired by British broadcasters showed thick black smoke pouring from both ships. FRANCE 24’s Selina Sykes reports.
