Can someone translate this bottom sentence to english please? every translation site I’ve seen says that means the band adopted a Thai boy but that doesnt sound right (Wikipedia of Czech band Jaksi Taksi)

  3. Your translation is basically correct. Except the sentence contains “na dálku” which means remotely. So they are sending money to the Thai boy and probably exchanging some letters too

  5. That’s what it is, but it’s a “long distance adoption”. It usually just means financial aid so the kid can go to school etc.

  6. “Adopce na dálku” is not an adoption in the legal sense of the word, it’s a charity scheme where you get to pick a child from a list (usually an orphan from a third world country) and you fund their education, and since the education for orphans in these countries is usually done through boarding schools, you also cover their clothing and food provided by the school.
