They should probably go to the Scilly Isles, would suit them.
Many Brits find it impossible to conceive of Ireland as a separate country. They always think of it as an offshore island belonging to them, and themselves as “the mainland”.
I’d go for the island called Britain. There’s a nice country called Scotland. Nice lads and lassies there.
*stares with northern Irish anger*
Why does this stuff get posted here constantly? the best thing you can do is ignore them. Certain Brits are trolling and get a kick out of it because they know Irish users will again and again post this to this sub and seethe about it. It just makes the sub look very insecure about Ireland every time this stuff gets screenshot.

Go on a year trip to Rockall
Rockall is a beautiful Irish outcrop of rock, well worth visiting, but get a visa from the Irish Republic first.
You can visit Ireland and be in the UK. There’s no problem here.
Sadly….a LOT of people around the world think that Ireland is part of the UK
One of the replies is Arran and the other is Craggy Island smh

It’s even more confusing for Foreign folk when there are now young Irish people using that dreadful term ‘British Isles’ there is nothing British about this isle other than the occupied territories in the north.
islets of Langerhans is great place to visit.
That’s not grand
Idk that just looks like bait
I can only apologise for the utter stupidity and lack of any kind of subtlety from other people unlucky enough to be born over here. Really.
As the child of an Irish immigrant here in the I remember the shit I got from British people in the 1980s as a teen. *however * most British people now that I meet think it’s mad that the North or Ireland is still part of the UK, and just see Ireland as the place most like them.
I don’t think this person was trying to pick a side or stir up a controversy; I think they are just genuinely interested in which islands are worth visiting.
They were probably just trying to be polite anyway, since nobody thinks Northern Ireland is worth visiting!

Like it or not, Ireland is the name of the island and there is indeed a country of the UK on it.

Everyone here complaining should cop on. OP is probably geographically illiterate. Calling Ireland (as in all of Ireland) an isle of the UK is moronic and ignorant. But those decrying that would be whingeing about the perfectly legitimate term “The British Isles” which is geographic and not political.
They do it on purpose to belittle us. Just like when they put the union jack flag under our great sporting people like the Donovan brothers and Katie Taylor.
