Oh, happy day!
Good, more and more countries and people need to divest from America – let America suffer, as an American in the long term it is good for us too, let us feel the consequences for our actions in electing a wannabe dictator who has thrown 75 years of allied relations in the bin. We talk about stronger together, let’s showcase that is being true and when we isolate ourselves our country and our prosperity suffer.
Can’t imagine why??? /s
Good. As an American, I’ve FINALLY stopped buying anything I don’t “need”. That includes alcohol. I’m not bailing out these companies.
It’s not just grocery stores. Take the time to look at stock markets around the world. American exchanges are down, European and Asian are up.
The grocery stores aren’t sidelining American products…they’re simply responding to the fact that Canadians are refusing to buy them.
We have control when we decide to use it together.
Elbows Up
Well done! Press their people till they decide to replace their presidential clown
Good. Now let’s make sure this isn’t just a Canadian initiative and the rest of the world joins in. FAFO time for Donnie and the MAGAs.
Dear Canadians,
Please pinch *harder* if you can. I want the fiend and all his followers to feel it. Thank you!
Sincerely,
A US citizen
Remember, if you find an American product turn it upside down.
Gotta do what you gotta do. As an American, I ask for impeach and remove weekly. Also, for the rest of this fascist scumbag regime, I am avoiding large chains whenever possible to avoid directly feeding corporate bribery operations that brought us Trump and that poison both parties with the bitter fruit of the R-backed legalization of campaign finance bribery.
Good.
They spent the last 10 years making Felon Trump’s behavior acceptable and licked his boots.
Half the country voted for a criminal and predator.
As a US citizen, I hope more nations remove all US products.
Only way these people learn is to hurt them in the pocketbook.
We literally put down the US fruit from the store yesterday.. quite happy to go without than purchase American right now.. many Canadians are doing the same.
Why should we subsidize the US by buying their hormone-packed, dirty products? The US doesn’t make sense as a country. It only makes sense as the 11th Canadian province.
Death by a thousand cuts 🇨🇦
Good. And it’s up to us to help.
Check carefully when buying groceries. Some packaging has sneaky language. Imported by is clearly not Canadian. “Prepared by” is dubious at best while “Made in Canada” a little less sus but still isn’t clear about its ingredients unless stated on the package. After all, some foods we like do use foreign ingredients, however, as long as the ingredient isn’t from America, it’s still safe IMO. Of course, “Product of Canada” is a perfect choice.
I only buy Canada and some foreign goods or products (a good imported Italian tomato sauce is nice when you want to make a simple no fuss dinner), but no American anything.
“Wahhh it’s an illegal boycott” – Trump, probably
Fuck American products. So glad stores are making it easier by pointing out what’s American so I can avoid it
Keep at it! Make those American businesses feel the pain they cause us!
Oh Canada!
More and more European consumers are boycotting US products, because we stand with you!
I’m curious what American products are used internationally?
For example, going the opposite way, USA does import some tech from other countries for manufacturing purposes. I know some Germans that make equipment that ends up in American products.
I don’t consume much for international products directly. Maybe I’m just frugal. I buy food, occasionally go to an event, and focus on my personal life and space otherwise.
I don’t eat much for international products directly. I’m curious how that works for other countries? As a citizen of where you live, what American products do you directly consume? Is it mostly our junk food?
This is the result of a collective boycott of a lot of pissed off Canadians.
Bbbutt but but it is ILLEGAL NOT TO BUY AMUCRICAN,!!
Keep it up Canada, every bit of pressure helps. Things have to get a lot worse here before enough people care to make it better.
I avoid most US products like the plague. Canceled most subscriptions, too.
Keep up the great work northern neighbors. Let them really feel who they voted for!
Thoughts and tariffs.
As an American, I am 100% cheering on my Canadian neighbors!
Good!
Target products from republican states. They are the ones that voted to hurt Canada, return the favor.
Honestly the best tool that Canada has against republican states is to stop selling them Canadian potash.
This won’t end if the tariffs are lifted. I’m happier buying local, national and then trusted sane trading partner supplied. I have 0 desire to support a country tge is disrespectful of my sovereignty and the rule of law.
Trump models himself upon McKinley in tariffs and imperialism. Key points he will fail miserably:
1. The supply chain way more complicated than in McKinley’s time, and the wages in US compared to other countries much higher too. So tariffs won’t drive factories and jobs back, only causing recession and massive layoffs in the long run.
2. US didn’t face two mighty foes like Russia and China, armed with nuclear weapons that can demolish US several times in McKinley’s time. His threats of annexing Greenland, Canada, and Panama Canal serve Russia and China’s interests greatly, by disrupting and dissolving the solidarity and cohesion between US and its allies.
In the end he will only make US poorer, weaker, and more insecure and vulnerable in everyway.
This seems remarkably simple.
We produce more goods (including food) than we can use.
If we can’t sell overseas. We are screwed. Prices will plummet because of supply. Farmers and companies will suffer. Some will fail. Then those prices will not only recover, they will rise.
Unemployment will be brutal.
MAGA?? Not so much…
I am not an economist.
So asking the experts out there. Is this wrong?
It’s particularly easy to boycott the streaming apps. All the American movies and TV are available on the internet for free.
– and American businesses feeling the pinch – as they should
Well maybe those US companies should call the White House and yell at the guy that started this shit.
Americans need to keep getting hurt until they grow some balls and really start to make noise. This is all on that dumb fucking Orange toddler.
