“Climate changes put women at great risk,” Vaira Vike-Freiberga, former President of Latvia, Co-chair of Nizami Ganjavi International Center said during the panel discussion titled “Gender – Security – Climate Nexus” at the XII Global Baku Forum, APA reports.
She noted that these issues were also addressed at COP29.
“The events happening in the world, especially climate change problems, put women at greater risk, and the solution to these problems is still in question,” the former president emphasized.
Vaira Vike-Freiberga also added that U.S. President Donald Trump was indifferent to this issue: “Trump claims that the fight against climate issues is a ‘money trap,’ but this is a very serious problem.”
