CM Mann flags off 72 teachers for Finland training

Chandigarh: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday flagged off a batch of 72 teachers for training in Finland. He said that principals and teachers going for training abroad were acting as catalysts to bring about an education revolution in the state. He mentioned that apart from Finland, three batches of 152 headmasters were sent to IIM Ahmedabad. “During the training, the teachers imbibed modern teaching practices prevalent abroad, and after their return, they share these practices with students and their colleagues,” he said.
Interacting with the teachers at his official residence, Mann said that education, health, and power acquired a centre stage in the political agenda of parties due to the concerted efforts of AAP and its national convener Arvind Kejriwal. He noted that prior to this, no political party ever bothered about these core sectors. He stated that the Punjab govt previously sent 234 principals for a five-day Leadership Development Programme to Singapore and 72 primary cadre teachers to Turku, Finland.
