FINLAND, Minn. (Northern News Now) – On Saturday up north it was a weekend of celebrating Finland tradition during St. Urho’s day.
In Finland, Minnesota, this year marks the 50th annual celebration parade for St. Urho’s Day.
It’s said that St. Urho is a Finnish saint who chased away the grasshoppers to save the grape crops.
Friends of the Finland Community continued the long-standing tradition and while the parade is just one piece, there’s also face painting, food, snow sculptures, and a fireworks show.
