The King’s flagship charity sought to bring high-net worth donors to a meeting between the monarch and the Pope in a move that prompted concern within the royal household.
The King and Queen will embark on a Foreign Office-funded official visit to both the Holy See and the Republic of Italy next month. They intend to join Pope Francis in celebrating the Jubilee year, a Catholic tradition which takes place every 25 years, provided that his health has stabilised.
As part of the preparations, the King’s Foundation wrote to the Foreign Office recently saying that Charles intended to bring a group of donors for parts of the trip. The individuals had all helped bankroll his charity, which looks after his private residences — including Highgrove House and Dumfries House — and promotes his philosophy of “harmony” between humanity and nature.

I wonder who leaked this, the foreign office or royal staff? Charles doesn’t seem to learn any lessons from his charity mishaps
He still has learned nothing after the whole Fawcett scandal 🤦🏽♀️
A source said the proposal was “crazy”, adding that the palace “are trying to keep a lid on it. There are a lot of very nervous people at the palace and charity … as they know if this comes out it is a huge issue.”
This is so embarrassing and pretty much a big issue I hope BP catches heat for this. Last time they blamed fawcett and Charles walked away without taking any blame. What will be the excuse this time ? Why is his charity still doing these shady deals
So he is selling meet the pope experiences effectively
At first I was thinking that intentions were not bad in wanting to bring charitable donors on a visit to the Pope, but of course, it’s donors to a charity for upkeep on his properties. How is that even allowed to be a charity?
Lovely to see he learned from his cash for honors scandal.
