  1. It started out as a shitpost. But Belgium is alredy disfunctionally enough, so why shouldnt the EU just annex it and federally run it?

  2. Federally run.. all of the western EU perhaps.

  3. I don’t mind, especially not if our income tax becomes that of EU employees.

Also, I indentify as European first, Flemish second and Belgian third.

  4. As long as EU fixes the roads and declares free beer and waffles for every citizen – why not.

  5. Because one does not makes omelettes with hard-boiled eggs.
De Gaulle said so, so you have to agree and forget your federalist fever-dream, I’m afraid.

  6. As long as we can all send two of our champions from our respective districts to fight in a life and death battle royale for the continent to watch.

I’ll be cheering king Barry and his council estate wife on in the games when we are once more united with Europe

  7. Just keep Brabant + Antwerpen, that’s all we need to run that country tbh. Partition the poor between our neighbours, and for the hardest part, fix Brussels somehow.

Edit: downvotes must be coming from butthurt Flemboys not accepting the fact that they aren’t the powerhouse they portray themselves to be.

  8. Great idea, especially considering belgium is not real

  9. I’ve actually thought about this before, but then a situation where we’d reclaim more land in the name of the federation o7

  10. If EU needs a Federal District as a capital, I’d choose Aachen or Schengen.

  11. Does that also mean that Belgians don’t get to vote? Just like residents of Washington DC don’t get to vote?

  12. Why Belgium? Make Luxembourg the Federal Territory. Smackdab in the middle between Hans, Pierre and the dysfunctional country they call “Belgium”.

Tell whats a “Belgium”, huh? Can you eat it?

  13. Sure, so it means my income can’t be taxed and everything else ?

  14. Wait, wouldn’t that mean in ‘game logic’ that Belgium is winning the game?

  15. In that case, we thank you for your tax-euros now that all of us get to stuff it into our pockets and not just the MPs.
