Also make provisions for future cases so other countries could meet the same fate. They could design it in a way that it takes 4/5 of the votes in the EU parliament to implement these measure to stop abuse but clear cases like Hungary get the stick.

To be fair, it’s a very bad precedence to have tiers of countries in EU, since it will only spark arguments accusing the EU of hypocracy when it comes to the values of equality on one hand and abusing the tier system on the other.
We should just get them out of EU for good. There should be a very definite protocol for why and how countries can be expelled from the Union.

It is vital the we get European troops into Ukraine as part of any peace deal there. If Ukraine eventually falls to Putin, they well have a clear border for his little green men to walk across to Hungary, invited or not. I do not put it past Orban to invite them in order to solidify his power even more. Orban needs to stay isolated.
As usual, it’s a complex operation. You don’t want to hurt the citizens, or any anti-authoritarian movements, if not necessary.

This is generally a good thing, but the timing is pretty bad imo. Should wait until the next election to avoid this giving Orban wind in the sails when it’s looking pretty close. But by all means, if he stays in power then do this 100%
Or, instead of stripping voting rights, change the voting consensus to 90 or 95% instead of unanimity.
Or maybe i’m missing the point, since I read in other comments it’s about veto rights. In that case nevermind.
