1. As an American, I can tell you that if the price of electricity were to go up 25%, the government would have to switch over to tear-based or shriek-based sources of power. We are spoiled, Canada. Stick it to us and help break the fever.

2. Who did the research on this a 10 year old? Ford held off on initiating the charge as he got a call from the secretary of commerce asking to have a meeting to discuss issues and wanted to lower the temperature…tariffs have us mad but the talk of 51st state has us furious…

9. You can go back to Trump's State of the Union address and hear him talk about reopening power plants and so my guess is that ford will be shown this progress and told that if he plays around with the electrical supply, canada will soon lose all revenue from United States energy.

13. I'm in my 60 and the topic of joining the USA has never came up among my friends or family. My grandfather was from North Dakota by the way so I have family on both sides of the border.

15. It was the US who called DF. Not the other way around. 2 days before that the US was not willing to sit down with Canada to discuss anything. Tomorrow DF goes to Washinton for a meeting. So who really blinked first. Not DF! If DF can't get something for Canada, he still has the option to put back the tariff on electricity. Who knows, other provinces may also follow. Ontario is not the only province who provides electricity.
