  1. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, on X: “A single judge in a single city cannot direct the movements of an aircraft carrying foreign alien terrorists who were physically expelled from U.S. soil.”

American Immigration Counsel senior fellow Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, on X: “The judge’s authority bound the heads of the agency in Washington, DC. He ordered them to turn around any planes in the air and not to deport them under the Alien Enemies Act. They refused. That’s contempt of court.”

Amnesty International USA, on X: “The United States is defying a court order in order to accelerate the complete erosion of human rights for Venezuelans seeking safety. This is yet another example of the Trump administration’s racist targeting, detaining, and deporting of Venezuelans—many of whom haven’t even been ordered deported—based on sweeping claims of gang affiliation. The U.S. continues its racist slide toward authoritarian practices.”

    What Happens Next:

If the Trump administration is in contempt of court, this is unprecedented territory for a presidential administration. The last time a president was accused of defying legal orders was when Bill Clinton was impeached over his perjury charges. It is unlikely that a Republican-controlled House would impeach Donald Trump

  2. I sure hope those people who REFUSED to vote for Kamala are happy with themselves. We told you this was going to happen.

  3. If Trump isn’t held accountable by the court, which represents the people, perhaps he was right, and is a king/dictator. Troubling times

  4. There is enough ambiguity (all manufactured) that he will get away with this one.

    Fucker.

  5. “Judges!”…….we don’t need no stinking “judges!”

  6. Here’s the thing… why WOULDN’T he ignore the court order? He’s already seen that he can get away with whatever he wants; Republicans will cheer on his every move, and Democrats will politely hold up signs saying “Please do not do that thing.” We’ve given a narcisist unlimited power, so of course he’s going to do whatever he wants.

  7. It’s the lack of repercussion enforcement that’s the doomsday event, the justice system has failed us because they refuse to act on crimes by government politicians

  8. trump dreams of destroying law and order because he is a convicted criminal, cheat, and rapist. The new Law is: kiss the Orange butt!

  9. I think these are certainly impeachable offenses. But obviously the republicans in Congress won’t do that.

Judges are allowed to enforce their orders using the U.S Marshalls OR any other person. It’s on the judiciary to enforce their orders. That could be the beginning of a civil war OR the white house backs down.

If the judiciary doesn’t enforce their orders, then it’s every man for himself. I think mayhem might ensue because if the president, who is charged with enforcing the law, doesn’t obey the law, then why would anyone else?

  10. Someone want to tell them Trump has been doomsday scenario-ing for decades now.

  11. You’d think such a “Doomsday Scenario” would get the attention of at least a few congressional republicans and get them concerned enough to do something/anything to at least begin to try and support our democracy, potentially save it even, but I suspect not.

Hopefully enough constituents can wake up sufficiently to apply sufficient pressure. Hopefully that will happen before were a Doomsday Scenario too late.

  12. I for one am excited my bloodline can end so the PayPal Mafia and the NGO shadow government can vie for supremacy. /s

  13. I ask myself, what would the GOP do if Biden had done this? Do that Democrats.

  14. All of it is, and quite literally not far until if things are stopped now.

  15. As I understand it, the SCOTUS ruled that anything he does in his official capacity as POTUS is LEGAL ! So, if he chooses to ignore federal judges, he is off the hook !?

I blame the current SCOTUS for this unfolding tragedy. It will go down in history as permitting/enabling the destruction of Democracy in the United States !!!

  16. Can we say constitutional crisis now? Where is the “party of law and order”? Do any Republicans care that we have a president who is giving judges the big middle finger and ignoring court orders? Be careful what you wish for. The next corrupt president, Democrat, or republican, will have precedent to consolidate unlimited power.

  17. Americans will riot and burn stuff when their team wins the superbowl (hello Philly 👋🏻) but a straight up tyrant is now stripping you of your rights and daring other branches of government to do something about it? Nope, nada. Sad.

  18. -Don’t worry they’re still obeying court orders.
-Don’t worry they’re only breaking court orders for stuff that has to do with non-citizens.
-Don’t worry they’re only breaking court orders for stuff that has to do with extremist opposition.
-Don’t worry they’re only breaking court orders against any people who oppose them.

  19. In Autocracy Inc. by Anne Applebaum she describes how Viktor Orban of Hungary ignored the court rulings with zero consequences because like here, the court does not have their own people to enforce their decisions. DOJ is not about to enforce anything.

  20. We just need to hang up a board that says:

It has been *0* days since the last constitutional crisis.

  21. “As long as they’re deporting people who aren’t my skin color, I don’t care” is likely the sentiment of most Americans

  22. America electing a convicted criminal who attempted a coup to install himself as dictator and who promised to rule as a dictator if he won was the doomsday scenario.

More than 2/3rds of eligible voters either voted for doomsday or weren’t concerned enough about impending doom to show up to vote against it.

So here we are, plunging into the abyss.

  23. donald trump ignoring court order and the republicans not doing anything about it is a Doomsday Scenario.

  24. As if he ever respected the courts and their court orders.

He does not care and faces no consequences, why would he not be emboldened to continue?

  25. Ignoring the law sounds exactly what a convicted felon would do.

  26. America doing nothing about is the doomsday scenario.
    Both parties should be concerned.

  27. And goofy ass Dems like Chuck enables this behavior by not pushing back

  28. No. American voters electing him president twice – that’s the doomsday scenario.

  29. Tired of these articles pretending like the rule of law still matters in the USA.

A convicted criminal was allowed to run for the presidency, elected to office, and allowed to occupy it.

The law is what gets enforced, not what a piece of paper says.

  30. He couldn’t have done this without the consent, assistance, and votes of Senate Democrats.
