Oh, the irony

  1. get the uk and canada in a bundle and stick it to the americans.

Then build a new capital in greenland.

  2. Let’s see if Canada actually gets into the EU, shall we. Meanwhile Canada is indeed in the Commonwealth, CANZUK is getting ever more popular an acronym, their new PM became a British citizen when he was governor of the Bank of England, and the Canadian foreign and trade ministers want to extend those ties:

  3. Lol… Canada isn’t going to try and join the EU. It’s not even remotely realistic.

  4. Time to rename the EU to “The Free World” and include Australia, New Zealand, South Korea and Japan

  5. The real irony is how stupid you are to think Canada will ever join the EU

  6. CANZAK is the more likely outcome, and is how the U.K. gets back in with the two-speed deal it always wanted.

  7. As a member? No

As a closer trade partner? Absolutely. Extend looser travel restrictions, make trading easier, start buying Canadian energy and raw material. Could even get on the ground floor and invest in pipelines Canada have wanted to build eastward, but Quebec stalled on until recent events. They’re probably going to start scrapping their US Defence contracts. The F-35 is now on the chopping block. They planned to buy from us before Lockheed talked them into buying their jets. Now that’s back on the table and maybe they’ll invest in the 6th gen fighter program Barry is running.

Cutting the Americans off at every turn should be the goal of the world at this point. We’re all trying to get off Daddy USA’s wild ride. Better to be a united front.

  8. The commonwealth consists of 56 states.

One of those states *slightly* changing their foreign policy to more closely align themselves with our immediate neighbours changes fuck all, you snail-bothering frog-nonce.

  9. I dont know what to think about the obsession some people have with Canada atm.

Is it just to annoy the yanks?

  10. I just want to let you all know I was not a brexiteer and it still hurts. Went to Amsterdam this weekend and although I loved getting my passport stamped, I hated waiting in the line of shame waiting to be seen by an immigration officer. He gave me 90 days visa. I was heartbroken because who would ever put a time on our love. 😩

  11. Sure, as long as we don’t rely on the clusterbomb of a nation down south, we’re be happy to join you guys.

  12. I’m in favor of a Euro-Atlantic Union including Canada, Colombia and some central American countries like Costa Rica.

  13. Every time I see this meme, I feel really sorry for that girl

Women’s handball is already quite niche, so imagine that picture is what you’re really known for

  14. As a québecois, I don’t think we’ll ever join the EU. However, I think this a good opportunity to strengthen trade and cultural ties with you guys. We’re basically the last bastion of fucking common sense in North America and it would be nice to ally with likeminded nations.

That being said, if we joined, French would be the second most widely known language in the EU, I don’t think you guys could handle that.

  15. EU or not, our new PM chose to visit Europe before the US. I’m not sure if this is the first time this has happened, but it’s definitely not typical and speaks volumes.

  16. The fucking Jerries are going to get Canadian free movement before _us_.
