10. Lake District lass here. If you want truly breathtaking scenery (not just pretty but completely stunning), head to the Western Lakes. Buttermere, Derwentwater and the fells around there are achingly beautiful. Just avoid the towns (Workington, yes I’m talking about you). Keswick and Cockermouth are lovely though

15. I loved holidays in the Lake District when I was a kid, must be a nice place to live too. Are the winters ok?

17. Lovely part of the UK. Avoid Bowness in the summer months, though. Rammed full of tourists – victim of its own sucess i guess.
