UK to fully compensate postmasters who exposed scandal

  1. Thousands of innocent people convicted?

Some of the CPS or post office officials should be fired and fined.

  2. Until all involved at the Post Office and Fujitsu that knew are jailed this can not be over. Its not enough to just compensate their victims, these are criminals living the high life and they need to be tried for their crimes.

  3. How do they plan to “fully compensate” those who committed suicide over being accused, hounded and jailed whilst senior Post Office folks knew exactly what was going on?

  4. And pay to reopen our local post office that closed because of this shit? There was one within 5mins of my house. Now there isn’t.

  5. They will never be able to repay the years of lost livelihood and freedom to those who were jailed. They will never be able to give those people back their mental health after years of being unfairly hounded by a company that refused to admit it had made a grave mistake. Money is all well and good but postmasters lost so much more. The likes of Paula Vennells need to face criminal charges for what they put these people through.

  6. It’s quite a tragic failure that our justice system doesn’t seem to have any appropriate way to deal with miscarriages of justice like this, where there are clearly defined perpetrators who caused it.

Surely those who knew of the flaws and continued to allow prosecutions to go ahead should be facing prison time… consecutive sentences for the time served by each and every person they went after should do the job, and if that means they die of old age in a cell, then good fucking riddance. We need the system to be sufficiently severe that people in these corporate roles (or in the police etc.) who see wrong going on, know that their complicity will not be taken lightly.
