Marcus Thuram has been ruled out of France’s UEFA Nations League quarterfinal against Croatia with an ankle injury, the team’s medical staff confirmed on Monday.

Thuram was the only one of Didier Deschamps’ 24 players called up for this week’s games to miss the open training session at Clairefontaine, outside Paris.

The Inter Milan forward, with 29 international caps and two goals for France, scored twice against Feyenoord in the Champions League before being substituted around the hour in both games.

The 27-year-old also played for the Italian club on Sunday in a 2-0 win against Atalanta in Serie A.

The French staff did not specify whether he would be replaced.

France plays Croatia in Split on Thursday with the second leg at home, at at the Stade de France, on Sunday.
