I moved out of Germany to the Netherlands about 4 months ago with my partner. I managed to get my unemployment benefits transferred to the Netherlands while looking for work since the EU has an agreement to transfer them among EU countries.

I’m now reading up on how to get the pension contributions I made either refunded or transferred to the Dutch system [here](https://www.settle-in-berlin.com/pension-refund-when-leaving-germany/#german-pension-refund-faq).

However, one question I still have is how are Pflegeversicherung contributions treated? Are these included under pension contributions? Has anyone had any success transferring the Pflegeverischerung benefits they’ve accrued in Germany to another EU country?

For context: I’m a non-EU citizen, but worked in Germany under a work permit for 3 years. From now on, I plan on staying in the Netherlands long term with my partner. I’m interested in transferring my existing Pflegeversicherung benefits if possible because, unfortunately as a non-EU citizen who just started working in the Netherlands, I won’t qualify for any benefits under the Dutch system until I’ve worked a year here. So if I get injured, disabled or seriously ill in the meantime, I would like to be able to use the Pflegeversicherung benefits I accrued in another EU country, if that’s possible….

Edit: I’ve already started working in the Netherlands, so my unemployment/health insurance benefits from Germany have now ended…
