BBC News: Daniel Morgan: Met Police approach to tackling corruption is flawed, watchdog finds

  1. Headline appears a little misleading as the summary of the report seems to be that there are a number of bad/sloppy processes largely relating to administration which undoubtedly leaves the MPS vulnerable to various levels of corruption. This clearly needs to be sorted as prevention is better than cure but further down the article states.

“The watchdog did recognise the force’s ability to investigate the most serious corruption allegations was “particularly impressive” and it praised its confidential reporting line and support provided to whistleblowers.”

Which to me would be a fairly significant part of tackling corruption.

  2. sounds like a decision on partygate will suddenly become top priority before any rules get introduced to, you know, like have to report corruption and stuff.

  3. Shocked I tell you. Shocked. The police department who allowed and then covered up his murder are not serious about tackling the corruption they killed him over?
