  1. Want to know how powerful the fossil fuel industry is? They bought an entire Government.

  2. “We’re getting rid of the cars and going back to horses!”

    -Stable Donald-

  3. Yeah. WE know, he doesn’t give a f.

And to be fair, who’s going to stop him?

  4. Somebody should tell him that’s the same plan Jimmy Carter proposed for American energy independence.

Yep, Carter had a lot of great ideas, but his energy plan relied heavily on burning coal to bridge the gap to cleaner energy.

  5. Trump is an incompetent buffoon. In his first term he promised over and over to reinvigorate the coal industry.

Instead, in Trump’s first two years in office, the US saw more coal plants close than in Obama’s entire first term, and 2019 saw the lowest level of coal production in the US since 1978, when the US economy was about a third of its current size, there were fewer competing technologies for electricity production, and the coal industry was dealing with a 3-4 month strike.

Trump is almost as pathetic as the dimwits who elected him.

  6. If his buddies were smart they would have divested from coal and invested in cleaner renewable energy. But some people are too greedy to do the best investing.

  7. There is no business case for private capital to finance new coal plants. ROI is trash because market prices are depressed during daylight hours from solar and output cannot be adapted economically. Add in risk of asset stranding and banks don’t want to know you.

The entire concept of an energy supply crisis was a complete fabrication.
