Givem’ hell
I like how the speaker is telling them to not do town halls, because he knows they don’t have any answers lol. I hope this one is a blood bath(not literally, metaphorically).
So Rep. Mike Flood goes against the House Speaker, and the Democrats are trying to fill the town hall vacuum left by the Republicans. I wonder — not that I have my hopes up or anything — if all of this kicks off some kind of shift in communication between politicians and their constituents. Could it lead to something positive and lasting? Or will this ever be nothing more than performative?
Can anyone from the US explain what the idea behind these Town Hall Meetings is? What if they wouldn’t happen?
Someone needs to ask Flood how the economy grows with people unemployed and unable to spend money in their local economies!
