Did they really promise peace tho?
The Pentagon said yesterday that Russia is regrouping while Ukrainians say they aren’t willingly retreating, they’re being forced to.
Another thing said by Washington is “we will not take Russia’s words at face value.”
I think these statements are something everyone here needs to hang onto the entire time that their actions, their words are doublespeak at best. It does seem like the peace talks do hold some merit even with a close Putin ally saying they’re “pointless” .. I think Russia is looking into the Abyss and seeing it’s future flash before it’s eyes.. lets hope common sense prevails.
The “peace promise” was just a sham to save face at home and excuse their forced retreat due to Ukrainian counter-attacks…
I don’t know why the media is buying into even 1% of the dumb things Russia is saying. They literally half-admitted to failing all their objectives the other day and claimed to be refocusing on Donbas and then the next day they say they are some great peace-makers who are going to reduce attacks around Kyiv.
1. “I’m only going to kill a bunch of people each day, instead of killing *a lot* of people” is not a promise for peace.
2. They literally said they are refocusing on Donbas, so how is pulling back from Kyiv a new promise? They already announced it as part of their strategy, unrelated to the peace talks.
They’re liars and murderers and nothing they say should be believed. In fact, it’s the opposite. If they say they are promising to reduce attacks on Kyiv (not even stop), I think we can pretty much guarantee there will be further attacks on Kyiv.
The time for talks is over. Putin will never tell the truth, Putin will never try to work with peaceful nations, and as long as people try to work with him, he will keep on bombing. Not only is Biden 100% right in saying that Putin needs to be removed, it needs to happen NOW. The Ukrainian people are running out of time and Putin will not stop there.
It’s unbelievable how Hitler left us a very clear blueprint of how to appease and headtrip the world while conducting his invasions and we have seen first hand what happens when we waste too much time in responding, the time to end this genocidal maniac is now or we will repeat the 40s with much more dire consequences, this time.
