  1. As a Canadian, it’s good to see Carney pull through with this investment just days into being a PM.

We need to significantly invest in our military and must not rely on others to protect us.

I’m hoping this is one of many investments we start making to ensure our sovereignty.

  2. Trump Supporters: So. MUCH WINNING. IM GONNA EXPLODEπŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯😫πŸ”₯😫πŸ”₯😫πŸ”₯😫πŸ”₯😫😫πŸ”₯😫πŸ”₯😫πŸ”₯πŸ”₯😫πŸ”₯😫πŸ”₯😫πŸ”₯😫πŸ”₯😫πŸ”₯😫πŸ”₯😫πŸ”₯πŸ˜«πŸ‡±πŸ‡·πŸ‡±πŸ‡·πŸ‡±πŸ‡·πŸ‡±πŸ‡·πŸ‡±πŸ‡·πŸ‡±πŸ‡·πŸ‡±πŸ‡·πŸ‡±πŸ‡·πŸ‡±πŸ‡·πŸ‡±πŸ‡·πŸ‡±πŸ‡·

  3. Great we can see things coming but can still do nothing about it. Let’s bring in the drones.

  4. Carney has wasted NO time since he’s been sworn in. hoping next up is orders of military weapons from other countries NOT the US. And a plan on selling our goods to more friendly countries.

  5. Snuck past? Carney made a phone call and it was done. Art of the deal.

  6. Carney being all β€œsneaky” but in the best possible way. Love it.

  7. This will be the next 4 years. The rest of the G6 countries doing trade deals while flipping off Cheeto.

Maybe if you play nice for a long time you can come back to the adults table.

  8. Pierre Poilievre didn’t even know this system was on offer since he doesn’t have his security clearance

  9. Even the earliest versions of that system could track planes across Indonesia from an array in central Australia. Great to see it’s going to Canada too.Β

  10. Hats off to our Australian friends, thanks for the tech!

  11. >Unlike traditional radars that were limited by line of sight, Australian scientists designed JORN to beam a high-frequency radio signal skywards towards the ionosphere above the earth’s surface, which then refracted the signal down to illuminate a target.

This is great news for Australia (and Canada). I am surprised however that the US doesn’t have a similar system.

  12. Thank you Aussies πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ€
You can count on us to be your allied friends.

  13. “Canadian Unified Northern Tracking Systems.. are not done.. We Honor Our Remote Extended Support.”

    /Still Has International Trade Skills..

  14. It’s pretty bloody funny that our most cutting edge military export looks like modern art made of galpipe

  15. As an Aussie I’d much rather is help Canada and grow our international bond then spend a second helping the US out with anything. We commonwealth countries should stick together

  16. I wonder how much ketchup hit the wall when this was announced

  17. I’m honestly surprised that Australia and Canada don’t have more trade agreements tbh

  18. I’m happy to see Canadian leadership investing in defence it’s long overdue. But the investment here in AUS radar can just as easily be interpreted as an effort to appease Trump and conter his arguments that acquiring Canada is necessary to protect its interests because CAN is making this huge upgrade to NORAD air defenses.

  19. This is what is needed the actually free and democratic states of the world increasing their trade, cooperation, political ties, and defence.

The US is no longer an ally. They have forced Canada to defend its existence and sovereignty in the political sphere with talk of borders being arbitrary, and threatening to destroy our economy until we capitulate to THEIR RULE … that is not ally, that’s an invader, aka an ENEMY, that is what an ENEMY sounds like. They do not deserve to be called an ally having issues or an ally miss-behaving, they deserve to have their actions and words called out loudly and clearly for what they are across the world. The US is an ENEMY of the free, democratic states of the world, an ENEMY. ENEMYβ€”that’s what you call a country threatening economic ruin and invasion, ENEMY is what we call them from now on.

  20. I was thinking that the US defense contracts will decrease. But they can build weapons for Putin.

  21. Buying an advanced over-the-horizon military radar system to monitor Canada’s air space independently of Norad and building up good will and financial ties with a western ally in the process. While embarked on successful multi country tour of Europe, axing the controversial tax that was the most disliked part Trudeau’s inherited legacy and getting a drastic bump in the upcoming election polls and his approval rating.

Mark Carney coming out the gate running as new PM just like Trump did but not at all like how Trump did it.

Dude is running all over the chess board.

  22. It’s literally β€œThe (British) Empire strikes back”! πŸ‘

  23. So, Canada has to pay $6 billion for advanced radar technology to help NORAD after the US has been pressuring Canada to spend more on defense, and this is supposed to be bad for the US?

  24. Canada: “We do a lil trolling, we do a lil trolling here and there 😁”

Glad to hear at least one good news so far
