Plenty of western countries don’t have them, why would we be the only unsafe ones?
Are we going to launch nukes when Russia (or anyone) cuts all of our deepsea cables/gas lines? Is the answer possibly…no?
It’s supposed to be a deterrent but realistically it only deters enemies from nuking us (probably) anything before that point (including the use of a WMD in Salisbury) and we’re staggeringly unlikely to end civilisation over it even if our economy is a wreck/we’re freezing to death.
More or less safe than the missiles being owned by a country led by a crazy racist and the missiles only able to be serviced and repaired by that country?
Call them what they are: instruments of indiscriminate civilian slaughter.
Only 9 countries have nukes. Please elaborate.
Its kinda bonkers how vulnerable we are, a couple of well placed cruise missiles on key infrastructure and we’d be totally fucked. We have no land based missile defence and half of the type 45s are undergoing refit
When england tries to invade again, how will we defend ourselves?
Presumably all the countries that exist happily without nuclear weapons must be quaking in their boots then.
Pretty sure scrapping Trident was passed at Conference a decade ago, unless any more recent one has changed that?
I mean, I realise the red and blues don’t actually care for internal democracy but still.
