Tiefling Durge considers whether stabbing is acceptable. (Spoiler: it is).

It’s Wednesday, so once again time for our gaming thread. Come on in and have a chat – what’re you playing this week?

  1. Elden Ring.

Another a week with this game.

I treated myself to knight armour. I can take a bigger hit now.

Found some new places and explored before tackling Stormveil.

Margot required my wolves with me.

The castle felt good and I fought the beast in the basement.

The Grafted bowed to me quickly as I stayed in close and whaled on him.

Next step attempting some minor bosses that I’ve met before.

  2. Still on Elden Ring. 90+ hours now and enjoying it as much as ever. I just beat Morgott. Ok I used the shield dudes and summoned some NPC but I won (first time ha) and that’s what matters.

Need to figure out how to cross the lake of rot. I’ve got the rot curing incantation so might just have to leg it and hope.

Next main section is some mountaintops place the campfire woman said. Glad to be out of the capital though, wasn’t too keen on that place. And I made the mistake of running into some sewers. I won’t be getting those runes back…

  3. Playing lots of ATS and ETS2.

Delivering Live Cattle across Texas, and then Lambs Stomachs to Rotterdam.

A tasty meal, if ever there was one.

  4. I’ve been escaping my job by stimulating having a different job, so my gaming time has been pretty monopolised by Derail Valley this past week.

Got a week off next week though, so finally dusting off the Space Marine 2 download.

  5. Day off and long overdue tattoo appointment has arrived why they have to be so expensive (obviously I know why but I just hate saving 😂)

  6. Monster Hunter Wilds.

Praying to the RNG gods for some Wyvern Coins

  7. I got Jedi Survivor on sale, moved my pc into the living room to play on the big ol TV. Absolutely loving it so far, moreso than the first. Some technical issues now and again like frame drops when leaving the pause menu but other than that nothing too bad enough to ruin my enjoyment. I like the western vibe it has going in the first area after leaving Coruscant. Game also looks very pretty, got raytracing off for extra frames since it just seems to be reflections and I don’t really notice them while playing. 4k, high settings, sat around 70-80fps. TV has vrr so everything is nice and smooth.

Not usually the type of game I fancy but just wanted something blockbuster AAA and kind of a no brainer after a long weekend in London for the cup final.

  8. Not got that many gaming hours but it’s Hades when I have.

Been playing for ages and it’s still got so much to give. It’s ridiculously clever, like how you battle through with the extreme measures pact on, but >!because you’re fighting the 3 sisters at the same time their relationship together starts to repair and that story unfolds as you play!< – it’s just packed with surprises. I think it’s probably one of the best stories I’ve ever played, and with no real movement from the character models too.

  9. Just finished a second playthrough of BG3, absolute masterpiece.

As a pallet cleanser I’ve started the Modern Warfare (2019) campaign again. Despite saying I was going to avoid buying new games this year so I could save up some money, I’ve found myself buying a copy of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, so I’ll be getting stuck into that soon. Can’t wait.

  10. Started playing ARMA reforger recently and it’s honestly such a breath of fresh air compared to pretty much any other online shooter right now.

No microtransactions, no battle passes, no skins, no stats, no progression, no leaderboards.

It’s a proper milsim so it’s definitely not for everyone but I’ve been having a blast on it. The best part about it is the banter with other players. People are generally super friendly and helpful on there especially if you’re new and don’t know what you’re doing.

  11. It’s round 3 of the Gran Turismo 7 World Series Exhibition Races. Just about to go and do today’s race.

  12. Tried **Section 13** last night with 2 of my pals, I love a simple twin stick shooter but this one felt like such a chore. Enemies were complete bullet sponges and it turns out unless you play solo your story progression doesn’t actually progress… Gone past 2 hours on it as well so thinking a refund might be a no-go sadly.

Back to **Helldivers 2** now then! Big ol’ update yesterday has made the game a hell of a lot harder which some of the community – myself included – have been asking for. But in typical fashion those who insist on playing it on the hardest difficulty are now complaining it’s too hard which is a wild thing to digest.

  13. I bought a bunch of games on sale this week, so I’m gonna sit down, download them all and play TF2 instead

  14. I really wanted to play Warcraft 2, but can’t find it for Mac.

  15. Played the ***Star Overdrive*** demo again. It’s fun. The hoverboard surfing is good and the boss fight mixes surfing and battle up nicely.

Went back to ***The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom*** to complete a few things and redid Link’s bachelor pad, so it’s have a large roofed outdoor area with adjacent kitchen.

  16. Steam Decks, I’ll ask in here as it seems appropriate, how difficult is it to go from mouse/keyboard gaming to a steam deck. I’m a truck driver and now I’m away from home a lot, and a steam deck seems like a good idea, but a little expensive to find out it’s not for me.

I’m not an fps player anymore, age has seen to that, I now like Elite, Starfield, Kerbal and such. How do these games play on a Steam Deck?
