    Nah, the Republican Party criminal enterprise did that decades ago, most notably when the SCOTUS clowns enabled the Republicans’ theft of the 2000 election w/their Bush v. Gore ruling that stopped the Florida recount that the Florida State Supreme Court had ordered.

    If that wasn’t an act of criminality – a blatant crime against the American people, against democracy itself – then nothing is, imo.

  12. Fuck MAGA. Seriously, our leadership needs to nut up and realize 90% of these folks are scared of their own shadow. The other 10% have main character syndrome.

    A judge just ruled that Musk/DOGE can’t dismantle USAID. He’ll get death threats, too. Trump created these minions, but they can be defeated by treating them as exactly what they are – alt-right troll dipshits.

  13. There’s only one way to put a stop to all of this. It won’t be Congress. It won’t be the courts. Either the people choose to cede power and live in a dictatorship or they choose not to. Patrick Henry had some choice words for these moments.

    I personally think that it’s time for the American people whether leftist, liberal, or conservative whether religious or not to realize that those who have been taken in by MAGA are no longer Americans. They may live here and may have been born here. They certainly will call themselves American.

    However, while we as a society and government, have never been perfect, far from it actually, there is an idea that is America that espouses freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. MAGA seeks to strip that from all but themselves.

    On the Statue of Liberty, the traditional gateway to America for immigrants, is inscribed The New Colossus a part of which reads, “Give me your tired, your poor,
    Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” That is America.

    Look around you. Look at MAGA. They are an existential threat to the idea that is America. They are not America. They are not American. And I for one refuse to cede my country to them.

I wonder if John Roberts is coming to realize that if the Judicial Branch of the US government becomes irrelevant than so does John Roberts? Bit late to be realizing that now.

  18. No sympathy. Roberts gave maga a deep french kiss with his clearly partisan and ungrounded actions and rulings which paved the way for Trump’s 2nd reign of lawlessness. Roberts is the poster child for FAFO

  19. MAGA are the most sensitive bunch of snowflakes I’ve ever seen. Not a day goes by they aren’t outraged or lashing out based on the smallest perceived disagreement with their deranged world view. How sad.

  20. Well. I’d say that’s the writing on the wall right there.

    We have the Attorney General of the US making official statements that they will disregard the rulings of federal judges. We have a Cabinet Secretary saying they don’t care what judges say.

    And now, not even three months into this dystopian fucking shitshow we have the legitimacy of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court being questioned by members of Congress and a major right wing surrogate whose statement carries the veiled threat of impeachment.

    If the blindingly obvious direction we’re heading, wasn’t fucking obvious enough, this should erase any doubt.

    The guard rails are gone.

    The US is tipping over the edge into an authoritarian dictatorship right in front of our eyes. And there ain’t any calvary coming to the rescue.

  21. Roberts was warned that Trump was going to eventually render the judiciary (and Roberts by extension) irrelevant if Trump got his way too many times.

    Roberts, in response, didn’t merely give Trump carte blanche. He granted Trump immunity from all of the things that would have barred him access to the Oval Office. He went from being the swing vote to the final nail in the coffin in every major vote since conservatives got their majority.

    And now we’re back to Roberts, worried that Trump will render the judiciary irrelevant. Womp womp.

    God, who knew the one tiny little ray of hope I felt in all of 2025 would come from Roberts? It’s nice. It’s not enough to undo the Herculean levels of hopelessness that is perpetually raining down on me every moment of every day, but I’m going to sit here and enjoy it for a little while.
