In the last 11 hours, the Turkish Government has arrested the main opposition candidate along with hundreds of others on “terrorism” charges, started blacking out all social media and deployed thousands of cops in Istanbul, blocking important avenues and shutting down public transportation.

   This is a civil coup. The government has cancelled all cops’ off days, calling every single one of them into work, made it illegal for press to make any reports for a few days, made it illegal to even form a group or march for ANY reason and most importantly, made the main opposition candidate unable to run for president.

   EDIT: The goverment has started arresting other municipal mayors that are aligned with the CHP. This is an illegal takeover of Istanbul.
