People don’t understand that a trade war between the US and Canada would hurt the US, but DEVASTATE Canada as they’re only 7% the size of the US’s economy and actually have a trade surplus with the US. They couldn’t find customers in time to replace the 330 million consumers with one of the highest GDP’s per capita in the world. You don’t think Canadian leaders know that?

11. Ontario has not "backed down" on the electricity surcharges. They are on hold after U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick reached out to Doug Ford, Ontario Premier, and asked him to fly down to Washington to "talk". If the US tariff on aluminium and steel are not removed, Ontario will un-pause the electricity surcharges, and is still considering stopping electricity exports altogether.
